Housing Authorities in Maine - Section 8 vouchers
Apply at the any Housing Authority in your county. Consult the link above regularly to determine which Housing Authorities are currently taking applications. Applications must be done in person and with an appointment.
* You do not have to apply at the Housing Authority in your city/town or one in which you plan to live in the future. You do have to apply to an authority in the county in which you currently live.
* You cannot apply to more than one local Housing Authority.
* You can apply to both an Authority in your county AND to MaineHousing Authority.

From Maine State Housing website:
How Do I Apply?
To apply for MaineHousing’s Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program or for more information, contact the program agent in the county where you live. (Note: There can be more than one housing authority in your county. See link below)
You may only apply to one MaineHousing program agent. You may, however, apply to both MaineHousing’s program and local housing authorities’ housing choice voucher programs. Because waiting lists can be long, it may be to your advantage to apply to both State and local programs.
