Call  207-712-6875  or email mcbulger@maine.rr.com.

Half of the roof came off this week and a larger dormer was added providing a wonderful water view.  Windows will be delivered
next week and installed before the snow flies! Interior walls are beginning to be framed in and the house is really taking shape.
Currently we have 4 families signed on, 3 in assessment and one in the application process.  This project is going forward and the
opening date of May 2010 is our goal.

We appreciate the support of DHHS for this pilot project and the support of the City of South Portland and it's residents .  We hope
you will join us in providing a supportive community of peers for our adult children in a stable home-ownership setting.   20 E street
gives us, the committed parents, the peace of mind that our child will be able to gain more independence, become a part of the
community of South Portland and secure the dignity they deserve.

Portland Press Herald reports on E Street starting construction!

9-10-09  E Street project awarded $ 50,000 low-interest loan via CDBG Grant in South Portland.
8-31-09 Construction crew is on-site at 20 E Street!

7-28-09  On Tuesday, July 28, the South Portland Planning Board approved our site plan and sub-division plan!

7-01-09   We have made significant progress in recent months and would like to update you with the following:

 1.      Site Plan & Sub-division approval status:
On July 14 we appear before the South Portland City Council for approval of our site plan and sub-division application.
Shortly thereafter, we will be applying for a building permit. We would like to thank the City of South Portland for their
overwhelming support of the 20 E Street project.  We have felt very welcome by the city, local businesses and neighbors
and look forward to becoming a part of the community of South Portland.

2.     CDBG Grant Application:
We have applied for a CDBG Grant (Community Development Building Grant) with the City of South Portland. Funds
awarded via this grant will help to reduce the cost of condominium units to residents and their families.

3.     Department of Health & Human Services Support:
In the beginning of July we will begin to firm up a contract with DHHS for financial support for the project– funds to be
utilized for staff support for  the residents.   This funding will not only help to reduce out-of-pocket costs for residents and
their families, but also show the support of DHHS for this pilot project.

4.     Housing Support Funding:
Maine Housing Authority continues to work with our parent group and DHHS around funding of some individuals with
Section 8 vouchers, so as to offset the out-of-pocket costs for residents and their families, allowing more families to afford
purchasing a unit and monthly staff costs.

 5.     Residents/Family Commitments
4 families have joined the 20 E Street, two residents have been accepted and are reviewing condominium and LLC
documents, 1 assessment is in process.  5 condominiums are available.
